Organisations Don't Have A Soul

An organisation is a group of individuals coming together for a purpose, and functions as an entity. If registered as a legal entity, it becomes an artificial person too. But it never has a soul.

So, do not embrace any values that are irrelevant to the operation of the organisation — such as taking a political stand when politics isn't the operational domain. It must not have any values that are pertinent to souls.

An organisation may be cancelled by a group of people for the personal values and opinions of its promoters and employees, or for refusing to take a socio-political stand. When so, it may be tempting to take such socio-political stands. But doing so will bite back for the lack of relevance to your operations. Stick to your ground. If you have some competitive edge, any boycott due to cancel culture will be temporary since the needs of those who boycott remain unfulfilled. Even if alternatives are available, few adjust to it. An organisation must take stand only on issues where it operates.
