Political Funding By Organisations
An organisation must be able to operate freely without making political funding. But in most political systems, this freedom is unavailable since:
- politicians extort money from organisations by threatening consistent harassments and disruptions even if there has been no wrong doings.
- crony capitalism by a competition often creates an undue disadvantage, thus forcing the organisation to carry similar practices just to level the playing ground.
In such cases, fund both the governing and the opposition sides as per their seat share. And if these sides are an alliance of multiple parties, distribute the money as per their seat share. In other words, fund each seat.
But, don't fund proactively. Let the politicians themselves come asking for the fund. This will make them the initiators of your political funding and make you the responder, not the actor — a much more tenable position in the public eyes.
